Bayanix Ltd, as Principal Contractor, are progressing well with the major refurbishment work at The Moorings project for Peabody.
The former Moorings Social Club building which laid derelict for many years was originally opened in 1976. It is currently being transformed into a Community Learning and Enterprise Hub to fulfil a long-awaited aspiration by the community to bring this important building back to life.
Part funded by the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund the building will be completed and handed over to Peabody who will be opening ‘The Moorings Sociable Club’ to the local community in March 2022.
Peabody’s Plan for Thamesmead which was launched in 2018 sets out a 30-year vision, mission and describes the ‘whole place’ approach Peabody have developed.
